Volunteer for ACT
Over the course of the year we have many opportunities for field work, monitoring and stewardship, trail clearing, trail blazing, habitat restoration projects and fund raising.
Bluefield Stream Turtle Habitat Restoration
This was our first acquisition and when we purchased it this white sandy peninnsula jutted out in to the middle of a rich vernal pool. Over the years it has gotten overgrown with successional pine growth. We would like to remove it to allow the turtles to continue using for a nest site. We would also like to erect a kiosk near the site that would contain natural history information about rich riparian zone that it falls within. If you are interested in helping us please contact us.
